LAMBADA 13/15

The Lambada UFM 13/15 is a two seater side-by-side aircraft. The airframe is made mainly of fiberglass, with carbon reinforced spar caps, and a carbon kevlar cockpit inner shell. The ‘T’ tail has a fixed horizontal stabilizer and full span elevator that is operated by a push rod. Attached to the elevator is an electrically driven trim tab. The rudder is operated by cables.

The wings have ailerons and double slotted fowler flaps, both being operated by pushrods. The left and right wings are removable, as is the horizontal tail, but this is an easy task because they feature self-aligning connectors for the ailerons, flaps and elevator. The Lambada features removable wing tips that can be replaced with extended tips to improve glide performance. As seen below:

Rods attached to the rudder pedals actuate the nose wheel. The main wheels have hydraulic disc brakes and all three wheels are fitted with spats as standard. In the cockpit, occupants have a four-point harness, and a storm window fitted to the bubble canopy, the seats are part of the carbon kevlar cockpit inner shell. Both pilots have a joystick and rudder pedals and a centrally mounted, vernier type, push-pull throttle. The instrument panel, as standard, comes with a Microair radio and intercom; a Microair transponder is an option. Other instruments are ASI, VSI, Altimeter, slip ball, compass, TL Electronics engine monitor and fuel quantity gauge. The right hand side of the panel has a ‘glove box’, which is handy for maps, GPS, spare radio or other useful ‘in flight’ items.A parcel shelf is behind the seat headrests.

When fitted with the wing tip extensions, a Rotax 912 and feathering propeller, the Lambada 13/15 is ideal for thermalling. The aircraft is suited to teaching the basics of gliding, without the time consuming wait, and cost, of aero tows.
