SAMABA
XXL
| In
2004 Urban Air flew the prototype of their latest design, the
Samba XXL. This aircraft is more conventional looking than its
predecessors, however it retains the basic wing design, including
the double slotted fowler flaps. This is one of the reasons the
Samba XXL has such a low stall speed and yet can achieve reasonably
high cruise speeds. |

| It
is possible to get the Samba XXL to stay aloft at less than 30kts!
But the cruise speed ranges from 90kts to 130kts, depending on
how much fuel you want to use. And all this on a Jabiru 2200 engine
and a GT two blade fixed pitch propeller. Other engine options
are also available. The Samba XXL is a modification of the UFM
10 Samba. It uses the same wing and tail surfaces but has an enlarged
fuselage and an increased MTOW. The aircraft conforms to JAR-VLA
(BCAR Section S). It has a forward swept wing with cranked leading
edge and laminar profile. The Samba XXL is controlled by conventional
ailerons, rudder, one-piece elevator and three position flaps.
Normally operated mechanically, the option of electricaly opperated
flaps is available. Please contact us for more details. |
